What Is Endfield?

Endfield shares a universe with the original Arknights but almost none of its gameplay. The original is 2D tower defense. Endfield puts you in direct control of a four-operator squad in real-time 3D combat, on a semi-open world split into regions.
The thing that separates it from every other game in its genre is the Automated Industry Complex — a genuine factory-building system with conveyor belts, power grids, and automated production chains that keep running while you’re logged out. The developers target roughly a 50:50 split between RPG and factory content.
You play the Endministrator, waking from a decade of stasis on Talos-II — a moon colonised 152 years earlier and then cut off when the dimensional gate to Terra was destroyed. No prior Arknights knowledge required.

Frequently Asked
Is Arknights Endfield free?
Yes, on PC, PS5 and mobile, with optional in-game purchases.
Do I need to have played Arknights?
No. It’s a spin-off with its own story on a different planet.
Is it worth playing in 2026?
If you like Factorio-style automation and action combat that rewards skill over rarity, yes. If you want a casual pick-up-and-play gacha, the long tutorials will wear on you. Our full review goes into detail.
Does it have co-op or PvP?
No. Single-player only, with shared blueprints being the extent of player interaction.
